The Early Bird promotion continues, but not for long! If you’ve read last week’s blog, you’re well aware that tickets for our annual conference, Magnify, were released. Under an exclusive promotion, allowing you to get tickets for the lowest prices of the 2019-2020 ticketing season. Unfortunately, that promotion won’t be here forever, so be swift if you want to grab a ticket at the best price. You’ll not only be able to hear ideas worth spreading at an inexpensive cost, but you’ll also forever have the bragging rights of seeing a TEDx talk in person, at a low price.
The Early Bird promotion will come to an end this upcoming Sunday, the 19th. Both non-Ohio State students and Ohio State students will have a few days to get their tickets for $10, and non-students can get tickets for $15. After the 19th, the prices will revert to their original pricing of $15 for students and $20 for non-students. Magnify has an incredible lineup of 12 speakers and performers who will explore the spectrum of provocative ideas ranging from Hip-hop in pedagogies to groundbreaking cancer research. TEDxOhioStateUniversity: Magnify 2020 will be held on February 22nd at the Mershon Auditorium in Columbus, Ohio. February is slowly creeping up, so get your tickets while you can!
If reading about Magnify made you wonder what it would be like to give a TEDx talk of your own, then you’re going to want to keep reading. TEDxOhioStateUniversitySalon has speaker applications open for the last salon event of the 2019-2020 TEDxOhioStateUniversity season, Keynote. Keynote will be centered around the various implications music has on the structure of our society. The themes of the talks can include but are not limited to, topics on how music affects our physical bodies, mental states, and how music can act as a vehicle for social change. If you feel you have an idea that can drive the essence of Keynote, then we strongly advise that you apply to be a speaker. The event itself will be on March 26th at the Baker West Performance Space. So if you don’t want to be a speaker, but you’re interested in the talks that Keynote entails, then plug that date in your calendar!
