A professor in the school of communication, Dr. Brad J. Bushman has studied aggression and violence for over 30 years. He was a previously a member of President Obama’s committee on gun violence, and has testified before the U.S. Congress on the topic of youth violence.

Dr. Milap Nahata is an award-winning a professor emeritus of pharmacy, pediatrics and internal medicine in his 49th year at Ohio State. He is the lead or co-author and co-editor of five books and has published nearly 700 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters.

Dr. Aaron Yarmel is the Associate Director of the Center for Ethics and Human Values and an award-winning lecturer in the Department of Philosophy, and the Director of the Philosophy for Children Academy at Ohio State. His research focuses on philosophy for children, AI ethics, social change, and two-level utilitarianism.

Dr. Hollie Nyseth Nzitatira is a professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies at Ohio State who has published over 70 articles and book chapters on genocide, transitional justice, and human rights, receiving international recognition for her research and university recognition for her teaching.

Nathan Demian is a student-athlete and captain of Ohio State Men’s Soccer. Shortly after winning the 2024 Big Ten championship, he was caught in a shooting. Demian was able to overcome what could have been a fatal injury and return to the field this past season.

Dr. Blaise Kimmel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. His work focuses on developing “smart” immunotherapies and medicines for cancer and rare diseases.

Dr. Julia M. Applegate is a Senior Lecturer in the WGSS Department, as well as the Director and Producer of the upcoming documentary Free Beer Tomorrow, telling the story of Ohio’s oldest lesbian bar.

Dr. Brian Pace teaches in the Department of Plant Pathology. His research focuses on how psychedelic experiences interact with ideology and the socio-political context of the so-called psychedelic renaissance.

Involved with two restaurants in Columbus, Avishar Barua is Columbus area native and Ohio State alum. He has had appearances on the hit TV shows Top Chef and Beat Bobby Flay.
