CityScape was our very first Salon event of the 2024-2025 year and an educational session for the books. This event was an unforgettable journey into the world of urban planning and its profound impact on society. From insightful discussions to hands-on activities, CityScape offered a unique opportunity to dive deep into the challenges and opportunities shaping our cities.
One of the standout moments of the event was the thought-provoking TEDx talk delivered by Luka J. Bastin Howes. His presentation offered fresh and compelling perspectives on urban design, sustainability, and the profound impact of community involvement. Luka highlighted actionable ways for young students to engage with these pressing issues, making it clear that urban planning is not just the responsibility of professionals but a collective effort. By weaving in fascinating historical insights and compelling facts, he inspired attendees to recognize their own roles in shaping the future of our shared spaces. His talk left a lasting impression on the importance of community-driven urban planning and encouraged us all to pay closer attention to the environments we inhabit.
We were also delighted to host Abdul-Azeez and Justin at our interactive stations, where their expertise and enthusiasm brought urban planning principles to life. Through engaging, hands-on activities, attendees gained valuable insights into real-world applications of urban planning, guided by current OSU students from the Knowlton School of Architecture. These stations provided an exciting opportunity to collaborate in groups and develop creative solutions to everyday urban challenges. The interactive format not only made the experience highly educational but also underscored the importance of teamwork and innovative thinking in addressing global and local planning issues.
Thank you once again to all who attended, contributed, and supported this incredible gathering. Stay tuned for more opportunities to connect, learn, and engage with important topics that shape our world!
