Welcome back readers! Hopefully everyone is navigating their way around exam season and is gearing up for what’s to come, such as Thanksgiving and upcoming TEDx events! It’s a fun time here at TEDxOhioStateUniversity, and we have some exciting news regarding our plans for the rest of the year of which we want to make sure you’re aware.
Here at TEDxOhioStateUniversity, we have free and intimate TEDx events throughout the year. These free events are called Salon events, and they are (usually) STEP PDC approved. We had our first salon event of the year, Vital, earlier this year, and we have more to come. These salon events are the best way for you to get a taste of what a TEDxOhioStateUniversity event looks like, so you can get hyped for our annual main event in the spring!
We have TWO upcoming salon events planned for the semester! The first being Resilient in collaboration with the Columbus Care Coalition, and the second being What On Earth, an event to discuss with members of the Ohio State community what’s going on with our earth in various ways.
Resilient by TEDxOhioStateUniversitySalon x Columbus Care Coalition
Resilient is a salon event curated by our Outreach committee. Our Outreach committee is incredibly committed to going into underrepresented and underprivileged communities and empowering them as communities. This year, our Outreach committee is working with the Columbus Care Coalition to bring Resilient to life. Resilient will explore dimensions of trauma in underrepresented communities and how the Columbus Care Coalition has worked with these communities and helped them work through such trauma.

What On Earth by TEDxOhioStateUniversitySalon
What On Earth is our second salon event of the year! What On Earth will have discussions generated by Ohio State members regarding their interactions with nature and how nature affects all of us in some shape or form. The event will showcase important and interesting stories about our relationship with nature, and how we can harness that relationship to not only empower our environment, but also ourselves. This event is an approved STEP PDC credit!
